Everyone forgot about Freeze/Ice Storm of Jan 1988?

Jan '88 seems to be forgotten. January of 1988.
I was going to get out ahead of the front to catch deer on the move. 3-inches of ice developed, cold as shite. Truck was unmovable. Couldn't even open doors. Was miles out in deep woods down old logging trail that I probably wasn't supposed to be on. Only had 1 day provisions with me for this "quick trip."
Couldn't walk road/trail due to ice. Found a mobile home hunting camp and spent 3 days in it. Burned through a 100# propane cylinder running oven for warmth (was barely above freezing...but much warmer than outside). They had some canned food, some 2x4 constructed bunk beds, sleeping bags and a battery-operated radio I used for news. Had to melt ice on stovetop for water.
Was able to get out on 4th day. Was going to return to trailer with a $100 bill and an apology note, but couldn't ever find the place again. I still feel bad about that .
