What is the difference between a football senior and a RS Junior?

Why are people not understanding that the difference between them is one play? If you played any as a true freshman and didn't get a medical redshirt for some reason, then you lose that year. We had six guys that were four year players last year. Does nobody understand that they all could have went in 2011? If all these guys played one time their true freshman seasons, they would be considered a senior with no eligibility in the year that they all left. It's basically the same damn thing!
This year we do have a bunch of three year players leaving, but THIS YEAR. Also most of those guys are going top 3 rounds. Also people bringing Wing and Ware into the discussion of leaving early makes me
These are LSU's players from 2009 (6 left in 2012, 4 stayed this year)
LSU 2009 Commits
Let's compare them with a couple other SEC schools and let's see if you can spot more than 2-4 5th year seniors
Bama 2009 Commits
Florida 2009 Commits
Georgia 2009 Commits
South Carolina 2009 Commits
It would have been much of the same if I went further. There is no MASS EXODUS, nobody is fleeing from Miles. Most of the seniors you see today from other teams are guys who took snaps at least one time four years straight.

I think it takes a bit more than one play to burn a redshirt, but I could be wrong.

still would be nice to get these guys to return.. i mean even just ONE of them.. how does alabama get a CJ Mosley to return.. dude was a first rounder last season. it would be fantastic to see LSU have a first round grade guy return his senior season. now mettenberger was not a first round grade last season, but because he returned and had a night and day transformation he now is at least a 2nd rounder.

One play burns a redshirt, unless you are given a medical redshirt.

I can assure you that most on here do not understand that. Most people on here just blow smoke out of their arse. Counting Brad Wing in the discussion of leaving early and counting that in the number and trying to make a big deal out of it is a joke.

CJ Mosley
How many times does a "CJ Mosely" go wrong? How many true 1st round locks come back and end up injured or something else that makes their draft stock plummet?
People need to understand that Football is a profession and after four years of college, you should not ask for more from any kid let only athletes who are primed to make millions. That's the usual length to earn a degree and earning a degree in these simplistic courses they have is a waste of time and money.
Usually the fifth year guy is the one who couldn't get on the field or was injured or who had a terrible grade and wouldn't get drafted. You guys want a bunch of those in this program?
