Is this the worst marvel movie they've made to date? I'm not the best with my comics, but I think "The Green Lantern" is a marvel comic and it was pretty bad too. When Tobey Maguire turns into a tool, it might be the most unbearable series of scenes in a movie I've seen on quite sometime. Now I'm reminded why they rebooted the series.

I can't believe I paid money to see it in theaters. Absolutely awful.

With the exception of your Elektra's and Ghost Rider's, it would have to be Iron Man 3.

Green Lantern is DC, brah. And I am one of the very very few to actually like that movie

Spider-Man 3 is a perfect example of what happens when you try and jam too many characters into a movie. If you're following Batman/Superman, then you can tell that's a lesson DC/WB apparently didn't learn.

I would watch Ghost Rider and Electra over Spiderman 3. Spidey 3 is just flat out uncomfortable to watch.

That wasn't the biggest problem with that movie.

Spider Man 3, XMen 3,and iron man 3 were all horrible endings to solid previous installments.

I'm not sure which was the wrist between them. Iron Man 3 and spidey 3 both had bad arse trailers that got me exited for the movie and both totally wasted a good villain

Rather is just a total fricking hack and I'll never understand the thinking by Fox hiring him

I don't hate SM3 like most people do, but it definitely fell way short from the first two (and SM2 is one of the best comic movies of all time IMO).

They definitely tried to cram too much into it, and I think that's where it fell short. shite, I don't even know jack shite about comics but I was pumped about the whole Venom angle, and that was disappointing to say the least.

I may get shite on for saying this, but I find the SM reboots (with Andrew Garfield) to be almost as bad as SM3 (not equal, but way, way behind the original first two).

The new SM movie stuck to the comic books a lot more which made a lot of people happy. I just think Tobey Maguire is a better Peter Parker.

I can understand that. But like I said in my previous post, I was never into comics so I never really had anything to compare it to (aside from just being a kid and knowing who/what Spiderman was). So me digesting the movies as pretty much my first real introduction to any sort of character/backstory, I prefer the original movies. And I don't think the new SM movies are shitty, necessarily; I just don't think they're very good.

Plus, I enjoyed the campy/cartoonish feel of the original movies more than the more dark/edgy feel of the remakes (which is all the more reason that the "dark/edgy" attempt in SM3 was laughably bad ).

Superhero movie without the superhero.

I don't get why people like it. I'm a big fan of Shane Black's writing, but he completely missed the point with this one.

Given the hype and excitement building up to it, it's in my top 5 of worst movies I've ever seen.

They fricked up Venom...VENOM! Unforgivable.

Disagree.

Spider-Man 3 is a perfect example of what happens when you try and jam a lot of characters into a poorly written script. The characters sucked because the script sucked.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are two examples of films that jam a lot of characters into a script and pull it off because the scripts are good. Even non-drama films such as Love Actually pull off cramming in a bunch of characters because the story is very engaging and very satisfying.

Spider-Man 3 failed because Sam Raimi had no passion for the film he was making. Marvel and the studio literally forced him to include Venom, a villain that he hated. From that point on, he mailed it in. As a result, the writers and actors and everyone else who worked on the film mailed it in too.
