COD: Ghosts/Battlefield 4 Campaigns

Jesus, what a load of garbage. You would think it wouldn't be hard to develop a legit FPS given the source material these guys have to work with, but after MW1 it's been all downhill. I liked MW2 and 3 better than Ghosts and Battlefield 4. Talk about horrible NPCs, teammates you don't give a shite about, horrible plot development to the point of it being incoherent, terrible villains, and endings that just flat out suck.
There's no suspense, no attachment to the characters or the story, the plots are all over the place so it's easy to not even no what the hell's going on if you're not paying attention, and the gameplay is just mediocre.
I know most people buy these games for MP, but I'm always a SP first gamer. I'll probably play BF4's MP, but doubt I'll get into Ghosts.
Just horrible games. MW2 and 3 were total disappointments after the first Modern Warfare game, but to my surprise they're still better than the newest installments in each series. Seriously, neither game could be more MEDIOCRE if they tried.

I agree, SP did peak with COD4. Both franchises have run into the issue of "what next" - COD just got more and more ridiculous while BF just ran through multiplayer maps in singleplayer. It's just my opinion that you aren't going to get attached to characters in an FPS when you are limited to pressing X or shooting, same with the story. It's just on rails, COD 4 was the same way but I hadn't experienced a campaign like that before.

There are a couple good weapons you can unlock for MP by playing the MP. The SAW for one.

They are realizing why people buy their games.
Eventually they will probably do what Socom started doing... Make just a strictly multiplayer game and sell it for 40 bucks.

I assume you meant by playing the SP. Do I have to complete the campaign to unlock it?

I dont know what people expect from SP, but I have played both campaigns and enjoyed them both. I know its the popular thing to do to say how awful these games are but I've also had fun with both MPs as well. I guess my lack of playing time has changed my view but when I do get a chance to play I enjoy it, I dont try to bitch about every thing ever time a game comes out. If everything was so bad the last couple times around then why did you even bother to play these games. Find new games or find a new hobby.

I'm a fan of the series and it's frustrating when they keep going further downhill. I picked up the games hoping a new installment would bring some fresh air to the games, but they couldn't even match their previous titles which were already received poorly.
And I don't "try to bitch about everything" every time a games come out. In fact, I've never made a thread complaining about games until now. If you enjoyed the SP campaigns well then good for you. I don't know how you did, maybe you've just never played FPS games with good stories and characters before?
And don't worry, I have plenty of other games to play. As far as what you think people should expect regarding the SP campaigns, the SP campaign of COD4 is what really put it on the map. It had good characters, narrative, and a strong plot. I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed in a series that started off with such promise only to decline more and more with each new release.

I am, and I really enjoyed BF3's MP. I've always played BF for MP but used to look to COD for a good, fun SP campaign. Most of my disappointment revolves around COD; their MP has never been as good as BF, IMO, and now they're not even doing the one thing they started off doing well: making a fun SP experience.

I just finished Ghosts campaign and I think I lost count of the number of collapsing/exploding buildings you have to run out of.
And that ending was flat out retarded.
