LSU finished up the regular season 9-3 and was ranked #16.
Now that the bowls are almost over, it seems the top rung of Top 25 teams got their bells rung, but the middle tier (at least those above LSU) won.

#3 Bama (11-1 prebowl), #5 Stanford (11-2), #6 Baylor (11-1), and #7 tOSU ((12-1) all lost.
Teams ranked 8-15 all won, with the exception of #13 Okie State.
We will obviously jump Okie State, but won't likely get over the top bracket losers.
So I'm guessing a #15 final finish.

Funny, if the better ranked teams won all of their respective bowl games (e.g., Bama beating Oklahoma), LSU might have cracked the top 10.

actually zero, the final BCS poll was published 12/8 and LSU was #16.

I think Clemson, OU and UCF winning BCS bowls pretty much kills any chance LSU could have finished in the top 10 of the AP or Coaches polls, we may only move up 1 spot in each.

The top 15 of the latest AP poll before the bowl games is in parenthesis. I am using the AP poll because there will not be another BCS poll and the AP selects a National Champion. The team in front of the parenthesis is where I believe they will end up(this doesn't mean I agree with this).:

1. FSU or Auburn (FSU)
2. Mich St (Auburn)
3. FSU or Auburn (Alabama)
4. S. Carolina (Mich St)
5. Missouri (Stanford)
6. Oklahoma (Baylor)
7. Oregon (Ohio St)
8. Alabama (S.Carolina)
9. Clemson (Missouri)
10. UCF (Oregon)
11. Baylor (Oklahoma)
12. LSU (Clemson)
13. Stanford (Okla St)
14. Ohio St (LSU)
15. Louisville (UCF)

I think there is a possibility that LSU finishes 11th but I just see any way that the Tigers end up in the Top 10.

Wrong , There is a Final releasing after the BSC championship. And the AP poll. LSU will be #12, at best #11.

No chance. What doesn't help LSU's cause is they beat an unranked team.

No, he's right. There are no more BCS polls. There never have been after the title game.

There ARE final AP and Coaches' polls to go though.

There is not another BCS poll after the bowls. There is a final USA Today Coaches poll in which the coaches are required to vote the BCS Title Game winner no. 1.

Maybe you should go read the internet.

The last BCS poll is used to determine who at the BCSCG participants.

After that, the coaches poll determines that actual BCS National Champion.

#11 Clemson 40 - # 6 tOSU 35
#9 Mizzou 41 - #13 OSU 31
#10 OU 45 - #3 UA 31
#15 UCF 52 - #5 Baylor 42
#4 MSU 24 - #5 Stanford 20
#8 SCar 34 - #19 Wisconsin 24
#12 Oregon - UT 7

We may actually drop to #15 with UCF moving up a bit. Cowboys may drop below us.

================
EDIT
No worries, we finished with a bowl win. Gear up for next year.

The polls generally just go by number of losses. LSU lost 3 games. Losing to Ole Miss cost LSU any chance of top 10 ranking. That's the way it is in college football. Book it! Wishful thinking.

Final bcs is out. If they did one after the bcs title game. We still would have been #1 in 2011.

Thats what I meant, The coaches release a Final poll based on the BCS Final 2 getting the Top spot.

And a AP (media poll is released , Not based on any BCS criteria.

Rabid Tiger, Maybe you should go read the internet. And try not to be ugly to others. Geez
