Looks like he's set to be A&M's next DB coach.

I understand he's from the New Orleans area. Apparently he's pretty connected in La., having coached at both LSU (GA) and La. Tech.

Should I be excited?

I asked on this board because his contacts in La. are relevant for recruiting.

Thanks.

Yes hes very connected. This is a good get for TAMU. I think its safe to say a foothold has been established.

Joking aside, I understand he's recruiting K. Young. Might help us with him.

UCLA flipping Whitley and getting the kid today helps.

Still not expecting to pull two La. natives LSU wants in the same class. I get that he's wanting to go out of state, but I think LSU has plenty of time to show its remorse for slow-playing him.

Lord knows we need him.

I don't think he has deep connections to high schools in LA. Perhaps some but nothing along the lines of Wilson, Burns, Juluke, Sale, etc. He was in New Orleans for a couple years I believe before going to Destrehan for another couple years. His time as an assistant under Dooley at LA Tech may have helped him develop more ties. All in all, his name has not been a major one in high schools in Louisiana.

Also, he will be better than your previous DB coach. So all in all an upgrade for you guys.

That's the thing-the slow play meme is a misconception. He slow played us. We have always been interested. Hes already talking about not taking an OV to LSU.

Is this the Terry Joseph that graduated from Shaw and went to Nebraska. If so I graduated with his brother Sammy Joseph.

Terry is a good one.

Yates put nine DBs from Boise in the NFL.

Nine. From Boise.

He's a damn good coach, just still a little green at the position.

we've had multiple chances to bring him on board and have not....so

I think his NOLA ties are pretty overrated, but I guess anything that helps get your foot in the door. As for his coaching skills....I'm not sure he's the guy to fix your issues

He is a nice grab but nothing special. LSU never showed any interest in him so his ties can not be to great.

Ron Cooper was a rumored finalist.

How is that guy at USF?

Cooper is a fantastic coach. I don't think recruiting is his passion.

Come on, man.

Putting nine kids from Boise in the league is pretty damn good.

Was a good recruiter, too. Between last class and '14 he was getting the pieces he needed to field a quality secondary.

Joseph did not arrive at Tennessee until 2010.

Waggner signed with Tennessee in 2008, Jackson signed with Tennessee in 2009. Jackson was all Ed Orgeron.

If you wanted a good DB coach you should have hired Cooper. He doesn't really recruit, but he is an outstanding talent evaluator. He did all his recruiting at camp. Plus he is a great coach.
