LSU Recruiting in Bama

When you look at the recruiting of Bama in Louisiana and the number of players they landed from our state it makes me wonder if we try for recruits out of Bama and why we haven't stepped up our recruitment there.

State of Alabama has no talent.

Because we have no shot...otherwise we would be trying harder. I think LSU needs to get dirtier in recruiting though because clearly Saban is a genius in that area. He will jump on a recruit just because LSU is recruiting him. Sure, they're highly rated but if it takes a playmaker away from a rival then it's good for Bama. If the guy ends up being a stud he'll play. If not, he's processed and kept him away from a rival. Bama gets who they want right now. It amazes me how families can't see through that kind of bullshite. Nobody plays the recruiting game tactically better than Saban.
Our walls are down and regardless of what people say, it's going to have an impact on this program. Now we have a great class right now...but imagine how much better it would've been with the 4 top 10 players leaving the state. So yes, a recruit doesn't make a team but it can still impact us. We sure could've used Landon Collins this year because his play was way better than anyone in those positions combined.

Unrelated, but there is no way in the world I would trade Kwon for LC even though LC is from the Boot.
I doubt that its us not recruiting these guys, I just think its harder to pull guys from there because people are so football crazed. No pro team helps in state college recruiting, IMO.

Alabama isn't a tremendously fertile recruiting territory… LA, as history has shown, has been much more productive in terms of talent…
i've always thought as long as we sew up our top flight talent, and get pieces from Texas, Florida, and Miss., we should be fine…

I don't want no gunps. A gunp is a Bama fan that won't get no love from me. Hanging out the passenger side of his mama's ride, tryin to yell that LSU sucks to me.

There's a reason they're coming over here. B/c our players are better. One thing that is tough for us to comprehend is now that Bama has been doing some serious winning and the media pumping them hard. These kids have only seen Bama win while they are playing middle school and high school ball.

I want to send a shot out to the alabama controlled sec for their efforts in bringing Texas am into the sec so they could totally frick up lsu's recruiting. LSU used to cherry pick the golden triangle and Nola now everybody's dick is in our cookie jar. Sec sec sec sec sec

It's not worth the investment in time to heavily recruit the relatively few Alabama kids that might be able to play for LSU.
If there were more recruits there, then LSU would be all up in it.

Bama has plenty of elite talent that LSU wants. It might not be as fertile but they still have several elite players come out of there every year. LSu doesn't waste time because they probably feel they have no shot. I think we should spend more money on our budget and force teams like Bama to stay more defensive in their borders. Clearly that's Saban's tactic in Louisiana and it's working. They're still highly rated for them but his thought process is they likely can get a guy just as good anywhere else in the country due to Bama's recognition right now. His main play is to keep them away from LSU because they have plenty depth as it is. If they develop like most expect, great. If they don't, -1 for LSU. One less player for them to worry about.

True, our best fullback is a walk-on from Alabama.

JaMarcus Russell is from Mobile. He was ok at LSU, no?

Alabama doesn't produce many recruits.
Bama normally only averages about 8 in-state players each year. This year, Saban only has 4 commits from Alabama, I believe.
It's one of the reasons Saban said a few years back that he wished he had never left Louisiana.

HEY! I know it's off topic, but any chance you're working on a masterpiece regarding the feisty Bama mom?

JaMarcus is an outlier, as are a few others from Alabama. Louisiana produces much more talent annually.
