My guess is the AD at lville is figuring out how much to pay to keep him there..I think last year he made the statement that Lville could pay him whatever it took to keep him

Strong is such a pussy. He pulled this shite last year with Tennessee. If I was Texas, tell him shite or get the frick off the pot.

I hope UL has to cough it up to keep him…and they are dumb enough to give it to him. He is milking every dime he can get.

HE IS NOT WORTH $5 million/year…they will be like TCU and WVU when they make the move to the ACC.

Texas can't pay the buyout because their BMDs are revolting on the hire. They all wanted someone else and no one will step forward with the cash. Patterson is quickly finding out the waters are rather choppy at his new gig

bullshite. fricking Texas and the athletic administration can easily cough up the cash.

This is Strong over thinking the decision. HE IS TO CHICKEN SHITE TO TAKE THE JOB. He knows he will be exposed at a big time program. I am surprised he even interviewed for the gig (well, no…I am not…he is getting more cash in his pocket).

Well if you say so. The Texas boards, AAS, and USA Today think that's the issue

Poor Texas fans can't catch a break. It's funny for us to watch but the Sabana rumors to these rumors have to be killing them.

Issue with Strong.

There is a pattern…I am shocked even the big boys even interviews him. He pulled the same shite last year with Tennessee…hell, even the Tenn. president and AD thought he was the coach….he got cold feet. Same shite is happening with Texas.

HE DOES NOT WANT TO LEAVE HIS CUSH GIG AT THE VILLE.

He has his pipeline of recruiting in FLorida…the problem is, will he win with tougher competition.

If he wanted the UT job, he would be at a podium with a burnt orange tie. He doesn't think he can succeed in Austin.

I think it's part of the problem. They have like 5 competing factions that all have their own ideas. They don't seem to give a frick that Patterson is caught in the middle because no hire can make them all happy. The leaks suggesting Saban, Harbaugh, Malzahn, Fisher...they have led to this imo. This seems short and they are being pissy.

That's why I believe that Sabana was real and not a rumor but it never had a chance because of infighting. I also believe that Sabana is dead in the water now. These people are going to infight their way into some chappy coach because they can't put their egos away.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I were L'ville's AD. But I'd sure get tired of being strong armed into raises every fricking year by thug agent and thug coaches.

Does this have to do with his coordinator who has a show-cause penalty on him?

Per another thread on here and shaggy:

quote:

Apparently someone on the Texas side leaked it bc they did not like the hire and wanted to $#@! it up. Makes sense as strong had not had a chance to talk to his guys. Secondly it seems the Hurtt guy is a nonstarter for Texas but strong wants to keep him.

Strong "accepted" the Tennessee job last year too. Told Hart he wanted the job and Hart offered it.

There was a team meeting later that afternoon and he told them he hadn't decided. Got a raise the next day.

I don't expect him to actually decline this job, but there's definitely a pattern.

This was an issue as well.

I think hes just waiting for the right job in the SEC to come open. At Texas and Tennessee he wouldn't be able to maximize the recruiting ties he has in Florida.

At UF, UGA, USC, and even Alabama or Auburn he would be much closer than at either UT and hes got a cush job at Louisville that is willing to pay him top dollars to stay in the meantime
