He was down forever. Looked like some extreme whiplash.

He was moving his arms and legs so that's a good sign but didn't move his head/neck at all.

No doubt

From my understanding stingers aren't too serious but I don't know how often guys get carted off for them. Hopefully everything was just extremely precautionary and he'll be back soon

Stingers in themselves are not bad.

What causes a stinger can sometimes cause other damage that is hard to initially diagnose due to the patient's lack of feeling and movement.

Still, it did not look like a crippling his, so maybe this works out as good as possible for Ryan.

ETA: By bad, I mean in terms of long-term prognosis. It clearly sucks in the short-term.

Don't know if anyone else is watching Pels post game but the girl (don't know her name) just said in regards to Ryno "he's fine and should return tomorrow"

I don't want to get any hopes up too soon but anyone else hear that or can confirm it?

Yea I used to get stingers a lot in high school in football games

They're not fun, but nothing serious. I would always just sort of come out for a few plays and come back in again and be alright

I think they were just being extra careful

Honestly I was more concerned about the whiplash and his neck than anything stinger-related. His neck snapped really hard on contact.

Yeah I'm sure he'll be pretty sore but at least he didn't hit his head

If it is just a stinger and no complications then he should be fine. In jr high, Steven Ridley hit like a some of a gun on a kick off return and my helmet flew back and hit me in the neck. I had a cervical stinger and I was back in full pads at practice 4 days later.

Ryan Anderson stayed in Boston overnight Friday following a collision with Boston’s Gerald Wallace. We expect an update on Anderson’s status later today.

I can only hope that the stay overnight was because movement would delay the healing process. Although Indy on the road on the 2nd night of a back to back, there probably isn't much reason for Ryno to rush back tonight anyway.

I assume it is just precautionary. He could still hop a flight and play if it was only a stinger.

A massive bruise could affect him, as could some further damage that went unnoticed because he could not feel or move.

I just hope it's only a stinger so he does not have to go through more bull than he already has. He reached his quota and went over this summer, then he hurt his toe... No more, for his sake.
