Normally a NSD thread, but you win or lose based on the kids you get..

not anything that kids who go elsewhere do or do not do.
2003 - great example. Remember Nick Child? I barely do. He was the top rated DB in LSU's class. Jonthan Zenon was the lowest.
2010 - Elliot Porter - ranked as a middling, 3-star guard prospect, who did not make any Top 100 or Top 250 lists. Although a Super Prep All American, he played defense in high school and was ranked only the 14th best player in Louisiana.
Another important note - Porter went to Kentucky for his RS year - the staff never quit on him, even after he went to another school.
You win or lose with the players you get - not those who choose to go elsewhere, period.

I said that. He was the top-rated DB in LSU's class.
Jonathan Zenon was the lowest in that same class. Zenon earned 3 letters, started 17 (of 27 played) games, and recorded 9 interceptions, despite being a low-rated player. Nick Child only played in 11 games, no starts, recorded 5 tackles and defended a pass.

I thought he was a prototypical Saban DB.

I still remember Zenon's pick-6 in the SEC championship vs Tennessee. Dude walked in.
