Nick Saban duh

But if I had the money to do so, I would make Jim Harbaugh eat those words.

No way they're getting Nicky or Harbaugh though. So should Jimbo be their top candidate?

Why leave FSU for Texas?

I think they should go after Lane Kiffin.

If Saban is completely off of the radar, I am going after Dantonio and Charlie Strong with everything I have. Gundy would be option #4.

This whole search has been a shitshow. They throw out all this talk about hiring a coach who has won a BCS or Super Bowl, then get turned down by Saban. Now the coach at Baylor turns them down. I dunno who they can get to salvage this mess. I can't picture Jimbo Fisher or Gus Malzahn taking that job.

Isn't Texas holding a press conference on Monday morning to introduce Nick Saban as their new coach?

I'd hire Mack back at this point.

Honestly, I would go back to Coach Saban. If he refuses to move on from Alabama, then Coach Harbaugh would be my next choice. If he refuses to move on, honestly, I cannot see them doing any better than what they had with Coach Brown

If Texas really wants to spend the $$$$, I would make Jim Harbaugh say no!

there is no mess, other than a media created one. There's a lot of rumors because boosters often reach out to gauge interest. But, these boosters aren't hiring anyone.

Everyone reporting every rumor as fact is a mess.

texas coaching search process (approved by 8 person advisory committee)

Step 1: Have ESPN throw a name out there to gauge interest/ reaction.

Step 2: If coach withdraws from consideration, then close the door without having offered an interview, much less the position.

Step 3: If coach wants the job, then float story about interest in an interview.

Step 4: If coach remains silent, then keep pestering via the media until said coach receives a raise at current school.

Step 5: Try again 2 weeks later.

Based on the process, it looks like Charlie Strong is the coach that has agreed to listen
