Who plays strong saftey for us next year? I was always nervous with Loston in pass coverage but his run support was much appreciated given our LB play...Who can bring the wood like that next year? I see more Free Safeties than anything else..

Mills, Jefferson, and the freshmen compete for the 2 spots. Freshmen in the mix will include J. Adams, Voorhies, Battle, and possibly Paris.

I'm sure the young guys will rotate a good bit and Mills will be out there permanently.

Getting a healthy Thompson back and Martin (dealt with injuries and personal family issues with passing of his father) - I think both can still be solid players and help at S. White and Robinson will lock down the corners with Thomas also emerging. Mills can be that jack of all trades DB. Miles really likes Jefferson and give him a year in conditioning and I think he will be very solid.

Chief counts on Strong Safeties to be pretty physical..Jefferson appears to be an agressive tackler but not sure if he as the body of a stong safety...I am not sure what to think of Thompson and Martin when they return...They may wind up on the Jalen Collins island

I think Jefferson with a few more games, a few more pounds, and a bit more film becomes the next great safety at DBU.

Mills is a solid tackler and can handle slot receivers and TEs. Love him at Safety. Jefferson looked good as well. Martin and Thompson are both solid after getting a lot of experience this season. Add in the fresh faces coming in this signing class and the Safety spot looks very good for 2014.
