I didn't watch the video, but you can learn how to juggle.

What does being 400 lbs have to do with it? Anyone could do that stuff with enough practice and it wouldn't make them a better player.

Not true. Juggling helps touch. And touch is one of the most important parts of soccer.

Juggling makes you better. Not much better, but it helps your touch.

It's more valuable than, say, being able to spin a basketball on your finger.

Juggling doesn't make you better. However, all good players can juggle using all parts of their body for 15-20 times. Aside from that, it has no bearing on your actual ability as a player. There's a difference.

eta:

Unless we're talking about an 8 year old kid who hasn't mastered it yet. My point is that as a grown adult being able to juggle 500 times and do "tricks" won't make you a better player than someone who can keep it up for 20 times using any and all body parts.

I used to think that juggling was pointless but once you learn, it really does help with your first touch and overall confidence on the ball which are important but you can learn those without juggling too.

also anyone seen the black guy in France juggling and climbing up a light pole ill try to find it LINK

I can juggle as many times as I want. Well until I get bored, which is usually around 50. But I have gone upwards of 200.

And you still have it backwards. Having a good touch is what allows you to be able to juggle. Like I said, after 20 or so times, it becomes pointless and there are diminishing returns. A guy who can juggle for hours straight isn't any more likely to be a better player than a guy who can do 20. In fact, in many cases, he's worse. You juggle more than twice in a game and you're losing the ball.

Juggling builds on itself pretty quickly and, to an extent, becomes an exercise in motivation (to juggle) and concentration.

Sure, but juggling allows you to get many touches on the ball in the air which certainly helps improve your touch. I don't think that these two things are necessarily mutually exclusive.

There are many, many, many high profile exceptions to this.

You juggle more than twice in a game and you're losing the ball.

That's not really the point. At the end of the day, if you play soccer and frick around with a soccer ball long enough, you'll probably end up being able to juggle pretty well. The ability to juggle doesn't make you a good soccer player. It's not something you do in place of playing or practicing more transferable skills, unless you really enjoy it. It's something you do for a short time while warming up or when you have 30 minutes of free time. It's an easy way to get comfortable with the ball. You need a very small amount of space and can do it by yourself.

There are many examples, especially with the emergence of "freestyle," of people who can juggle a lot but suck at soccer. That doesn't make juggling pointless.

Honestly, it depends on how relaxed I am that day. Some days, I can get something nice going, but other days, it's bad.

It's not totally useless, but being decent at it doesn't mean much.
