I was at the game and couldn't tell what happened. Did TV show it?

Any explanation would be appreciated.

TV never showed a replay. Gruden and Tirico thought it was a crappy penalty, especially since no warning was given.

Especially with how early in the game it was.

I was wondering up in the stands too. I was watching the play clock and it was nearly at 0. I thought maybe Les tried to distract the time clock official so they didn't notice that the clock was well beyond 0 by the time we started the play.

There was a white area about a yard wide along the sidelines. It was "NO MAN'S LAND FOR LSU". Officals wanted that area to be able to run up and down the side lines.

I noticed that the Iowa coach was constantly at the sideline. There was suppose to be the same white zone on their side of the field. They never got called.

This and the overturned fumble, and the Hawkeye fans are still screaming bias.

Agreed.

What conference were the officials from?

...and the other fumble that was ruled as "stopped forward progress".

At least we didn't have the SEC crew at the Baylor game last night.

Those calls were horrible. If anything the replay confirmed the fumble. It sure as hell wasn't indisputable evidence to overturn fumble being called on the field.
