Was never in the military but I'm pretty good at it at work when I need to be.

Old military slang for the art of making it look like you're working when you're not.

I.E Carrying a clip board around looking at it periodically while walking around.

Truth, my screen protector is for privacy....

Would sleep everyday during my upgrade hands over my eyes like I was looking down at my book. Yet I still had the highest scores on all of our tests. Amazing.

It's skating in the Marines. And yes, it is alive and kicking.

I was elite at shamming. It was easy for medics in my company.

y'all didn't even have to sham. We expected y'all to do nothing. It was part of the MOS description.

I remember we had one person who somehow developed allergies from her combat boots. I think she was allergic to life and she showered maybe twice a week

Alive and well my friend. When I made E-5 me and my fellow Sargents would go on "sham patrol" which was an investigative walk around wherever we were. The motor pool working on equipment was an infamous sham location. Soldiers under the equipment sleeping or deep in a Bradley with a tool in their hand sleeping. There was a definite art to it. Some had lookouts and signals for when I was coming to warn others. It was funny to watch.
