Wonder how much money was lost on that fumble reversal in LSU Iowa?

Even worse, the illegal bat on the last play happened in the end zone, should have been a safety

Yeah that was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Good thing it didn't cost us.

1. Ruled fumble on the field
2. Replay clearly showed a fumble
3. Officials overturn it. Rule it a forward pass.

It was so clearly a fumble, if it was ruled a forward pass on the field, there was definitive evidence to reverse it.

Someone had money on that game.

From start to finish, that was one of the worst officiated games that I have seen in my 38 years of watching football.

I can't really get on board with a conspiracy theory about the refs fixing the point spread. There's no guarantee of how the game will go. Iowa might have come out and laid an egg from start to finish.

If you're going to pay off the refs, the way to do it would be to put a lot of money on the "under" and get them to call a tight game when it comes to offensive holding and OPI. Or bet the "over" and get them to call a tight game on DPI, late hits, illegal contact, etc.

Except there were too many men on the field so the play didn't happen.

Hell the "forward progress" call on the fumble in the first half was terrible.

Actually it did happen because the only penalty charges was the illegal batting by the return team. There was no official mention of too many men on the field.

Yeah, it was really bad. I'm pretty sure none of the officials saw the ball drop out of the guys hand when he first hit the pile and assumed it came out when he was stood up for a while/going to the ground.

Were these the same refs from the UM/USC game from last year?
