Quite the excellent meal tonight. Motorboat, Squid Bait and I rocked the fat arse this evening.
For starters we had the shrimp and grits, fried oysters and carpaccio. Nothing sucked.
Entrees consisted of the short rib, the pork loin, and the borsetta was had by me. Homemade pasta stuffed with crab and black truffles finished with a fontina cream sauce. It was slap ya mama delicious. The girls ate blah shite so whatever. My dish is posted below. Happy New Year FDB!!

They didn't close, they sold to the folks that own Martinique Bistro and another place in Houma. They have introduced some Italian stuff and may eventually switch over but for now it's still Dick and Jenny's

I haven't eaten there since the new owners. It was good before so I'll have to try it again.

Well I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm a Dick and Jenny's fan and I learned from this thread it's under new ownership so I've got that in my head now. The review is not bad although "slap ya mama" isn't necessarily a term I'd use but I'm hip so I got it. Although I don't post pics out of fear of the Internet I do appreciate most that are posted, even MD's SAMs Hot Dog pics. What I don't understand is why you would be offended with my commenting on the fact that your picture looks like a child's oatmeal breakfast half finished. Albeit a child's oatmeal with black truffles, but nevertheless simply put, a fecal fiasco on a plate.
I don't proclaim to be Ansel Adams or Annie Leibovitz however I do own a Kodak Instamatic and have some sort of sense that allows me to take a picture without cutting off people's heads or taking pictures of vomit on a plate.
Is that smug enough of a count answer? And #1 a-hole? Meh...top 5? Yeah...but I'm working on a better standing.
But I did catch a nice limit of trout this afternoon at Pass a Loutre and knocked down three mallards and a gray duck that I'm going to pot roast so maybe that will appease you and your Motorboat.
And a Happy New Year to you as well.
