This Applebee's is directly across the street from my office and is a shite hole(like all other Applebee's)There's no decent view from there of the ball drop and you'd probably end up waiting for 20 minutes every time you needed a drink. There were much better places you could get an open bar in NYC between $100-$200.

Fun Bunch- were you the only American there? Seemed like all of midtown was overrun by foreigners yesterday afternoon.

Id rather slit my throat then eat at an Applebees, Zea, Ruby Tuesday, Chili's, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, or O'Charleys. Their menus are a joke, prices insane, portions are appetizers, and service sucks!

Not at all, in fact my game is strong, but I wanted to spend a great weekend with the girl I was in love with at the time. Looking back I probably should have invested it, I wouldn't mind an extra 30k in the bank today, but I don't think I would change anything. It was one of the best, if not the single best, 4 days of my life and it's hard to put a price on that.

375 a person is not my idea of a New Years Eve, but nothing wrong with hitting up Chili's and getting a burger and a couple beers every now and then.

To each his own!!! If you had huge amounts of cash coming in you wouldn't really even think about it but for the vast majority of people that isn't the case. Hopefully one day you get there!

My wife and i are the same way. Xmas, birthdays, and anniversary, we really aren't into spending money. We'll go eat a nice dinner when we want, and we're dominating our mortgage and savings.

Not surprising coming from the gump who thinks Applebee's menu prices are "insane". You family and friends will be pumped about buying their own drinks at your wedding.

Yeah I think I would just find another place to eat at. If I travel out of town I usually just look for something on yelp.

I managed to get a great deal in NYC NE 3 years ago. Me an the wife were making our way down the street towards Time's Square to get herded into one of those damn pens. We decided to step into an Italian restaurant for a bit to eat and use the bathroom before we went to the pen.

Ended up eating at the bar and they said we had to go as soon as we finished our meal. I paid the manager $100 to let us stay and we sat and got trashed from about 6:30PM till 11:55. Then stepped outside an watched the ball drop. Perfect.
