Could really care less if they overturn it. Yes it was backwards, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. If they do, great, if they don't, great.

They will just go find a lateral from earlier in the year and rule it a pass.

It's obviously a backwards pass. I don't see how anyone can argue otherwise. Whether they decide to change it is the question. I'm sure Brees had a backwards pass or two in 2011 that didn't get overturned if you went back and studied every pass.

Do realize that implies that you do care. The proper saying is "I couldn't care less."

You learn something new every day.

Meh. I guess some stat mongers will care but considering Manning left at half time, in reality he could have broken it by another hundred yards or so.

Exactly. A rule is a rule. But the record isn't the question. Manning would have broke it. I say leave it be. Let someone else break it one day. Drew still has his ring and will be in the Hall of Fame. This record will not change either QB's status.

More impressive than the yardage record are Drew's comp% and consecutive games with a TD records.

Coincidentally, Manning could break Drew's consecutive games with a TD streak in Week 17 of next year.

There is a zero percent chance the record is overturned.

He would've broke it anyway, he earned it. Stupid it might come down to something like this, and I'd bet Brees would say he'd be fine with this not being overturned (though deep down probably disappointed his record didn't even last two years compared to Marino's 30 years or so).

And now he can go for 6000 next season

Eta- add to the fact Brees has FOUR 5000+ yard seasons, will help ease the pain. That record should stand for a while
