Anyone else hate the optional objectives in the AC games?

They are nothing but a distraction, in my opinion, at least in the main missions.

I don't like any type of errand or collect-them-all missions. They are lazy ways to add gameplay time.

So you don't like assassins creed in general?

They aren't optional if they force my brain to try and complete them.

Collecting the pages in ACIII was annoying as hell. It was pretty much the only task I didn't complete.

Playing ac3 in General was annoying as hell which is why it's the only one I didn't beat.

Gardoki I dont see you on Steam as much lately.

It was worth it to do them once in Brotherhood just to unlock the Cristina Vespucci memories. Those were well done.

Other than that, I find those games are tediously linear once you sift past the shallow beat-em-up and follow-that-a-hole missions.

I got Black Flag on Christmas and haven't had anything resembling an urge to play it - pretty phenomenal for a franchise I used to show up at midnight release for.

AC3 is hands down the worst Triple AAA title released in the last 2 yrs.

WTF, cutscenes?

The game was completely unplayable with a cutscene every 2minutes.

I think what brings me to ac games is the atmosphere and world they create. I live black flag for that reason.

As for steam I think being on uplay for ac has kept me off. I was on last night to pay some borderlands but that's not often. It just goes through cycles.

Sometimes they are easy, and sometimes they are a pain in the arse. For some reason though, I go for all of them.

I have repeated quite a few missions because I didnt complete them and the mission ended before I knew it was going to.
