Was looking at the site plan for the Oasis on Burbank and noticed that it includes "Sammys" in a 5,500 sf space. Has anyone heard that they are moving locations?

They'll never leave that location. Maybe it'll be another location but I doubt it.

Its the tract of land that the neighborhoods are being built around between the kenilworths above and below it.

That's really close to the Highland location.

I guess they feel pretty good about it.

The location will be less about the restaurant and more focused on the sports/bar/entertainment aspect. Sounds like a solid idea with the building up of burbank and the lack of a mangos type place on that side of BR

Interesting, the site plan shows a really large deck attached to the restaurant. Sounds like it will be a cool place and I do think it is a fantastic location with a lot of upside.

The Oasis is a recreation / retail development located on the south side of Burbank at South Kenilworth. The main focus of the development is a 5,600 square foot sports bar, developed by Sammy’s Grill, with a 9,000 square foot open air deck overlooking the 3 acre sports / recreation area. There will be 5 sand volleyball courts and we will be hosting leagues, tournaments, clinics and camps throughout the year. We will also have horseshoes and washer board . There will be a large open green area to host other sporting event and various outdoor functions and parties. There will be outdoor TV’s to view your favorite sporting events. All events are catered on site. There will be virtual golf available. You can hit day or night, rain or shine. We will have closest to the hole and long drive competitions along with leagues and tournaments. Sand dodge ball is another possible recreation sport

Has everybody forgot that the south side of Burbank is a fricking flood plain?? I know they've improved drainage but no amount of culverts and ditches can stop a 50 yr flood.

LSU is getting a sand volleyball team. I wonder if they will play there.

First thing I thought of when I saw the location. Don't worry though, as long as you dig a flood mitigation pit a few miles downstream you should be fine according to the engineers in charge of approving plans.

South side? The wife and I were driving the kids around the abomination that is Grand Lakes or Lake Estates off of Highland and all I could think of was those awful houses flooding.

We were looking at the gaudy lights on the zero-lot-lines. My kids get tired of the classy lights in my neighborhood.

It looks like the neighborhood in the sopranos but with no lots.
