Dark souls pc question

Got it on sale on steam. Downloaded the patch to make mouse and keyboard more viable, but looks like ill need a controller. Do you need a windows specific xbox controller?

I bought a wired one off Amazon that said it was for pc but I have always heard of it is weird it can just be plugged in regardless.

An official wired xbox controller will work. That's what I use.

When playing Dark Souls it's best to buy controllers in bulk. So, when you find one that works buy several.
