PS4 sharing PSN with PS3

Sorry, I'm sure it's been talked about at length but just don't know where to look. Can players with a PS4 play, for example, COD Ghosts with players on PS3? I just got enough Best Buy gift cards to buy a PS4, but I know no one else that has one right now.
