While I know everyone wants to blame talent for the OL and WR issues this year, but both are more likely due to the losses of Curtis Johnson and Kromer, two top guys, with mediocre to bad replacements.

WR corp was subpar starting last season and OL reall struggling this season. It's not s coincidence.

Agreed, also look at the Bears... Offensive line has been an issue for them for years, but this season under Kromer they gave improved a lot.

on the OL point, I will agree with you - the regression of how they played under Kromer is very evident.

for the Receivers, i'm not sure if I would agree on that just yet. the Oline not blocking well, and no run game to loosen the secondary up a bit is the main culprit there - at least in my opinion.

So nfl veterans need that much coaching? These dudes don't exactly forget how to play good football. I'd chalk it up more to overachieving players declining physically. If you want to start blaming coaches for the inability of players to perform the rant is a few spots up.

Replacing 4/5 offensive linemen probably had a little something to do with that.

So why did the saints suck last season? Why is our defense no longer historically bad?

There are not enough : banghead:

Also the Bears signed a Pro-Bowl LT, a 1st round guard, and a 5th rounder at RT. There was much more than just a coaching change. They actually acquired some talent, too.

Because we were asking shitty aging players to get pressure with 4 on the qb and average/bad safeties to each cover half the field after making quick decisions?

A scheme can definitely fit players differently, but we've had a huge influx in young talent. The way the op was worded made it seem that our players are lacking the daily coaching to perform an an adequate level. There is a big difference between an overall schematic fit and a position coach leaving supposedly having a dramatic impact on a squad. Since last year we have a de and olb coming in to their own, a new dynamic safety, a huge improvement at one corner back spot, healthy interior linemen who don't suck, and better linebackers in Harrelson and Hawthorne... We've essentially revamped the majority of the defense.

the short answer is yes.

Every player on our team was not a first rounder beast in college.

Cut OL coach.

Give WR one more year.
