How to stop the Saints

Blitz on early downs and get physical with the Saints WRs at the line and dont let them get off with out a jam.
This is effective for multiple reasons:
1 -Saints pass a ton on early downs and as a result youre more likely to catch the Saints in a favorable matchup and less likely to get burned with a long run.
2. Saints have poor pass protection and your blitz is more likely to be effective, esp if youre jamming the WRs and Brees has nowhere to go with the ball early, and
3. - the WRs havent been able to overcome physical the play at the line and break free for a big gain to make CBs back off. ...and even if they do, theres a good chance Drew is running for his life or already on his arse by then.
To get this back on track, Payton is going to have to run the ball more and adjust his playcalling to take advantage of the press coverage. Not sure what that might look like, but every team that does this is effective in shutting us down.
I think we might need some breakaway speed at WR. although im not sure we could even use is right now with this O line.

All you had to write was, "Saints have poor pass protection."

Play at home.
But seriously, your post was accurate as well.

Or just play them at home

our WRs could make a difference here, if we used size (Colston/Graham) or had break away speed (....)
Or we ran the ball out of passing formations on early downs.
Seriously i havent see a Drew Brees/Sean Payton offense just flat shut down like this before. The Oline is a problem that cannot be fixed, so play calling must be adjusted to mitigate/hide the problem to the greatest extent possible.

CSP knows more than all of us combined obviously. But, what about rolling the pocket to buy a little time. Do we ever do that?

Hold Jimmy Graham so he can't catch the ball. We lost the last two weeks, and that's on us, but I can't ever remember seeing a receiver being held so much and it not being called.

that doesnt mean he doesnt get caught up with his own tendencies. I thought coming off the suspension we'd see potentially the least predicatable if not most diverse play calling since he joined the Saints.
Looks to be the opposite.
Everyone knows we throw it a lot on early downs and theyre starting to capitalize. We should try some draws or that pitch-out that absolutely kills the blitz.
or maybe we go no huddle at times to prevent teams from being able to make those adjustments. I was hoping wed do that to shake out of our funk yesterday.

The teams that have shut down the Saints offense all have one thing in common, good front 4's and 5's. They got consistent pressure against the Saints without blitzing, thus allowing 7 guys to fall back into coverage. The Saints also refuse to stick with the running game, so the LBs and Safeties can stay deep without worrying about coming up and stopping the run. It's why there very few deep shots to be had.
OL that struggles with good pass rushers + Inside LBs and safeties who can sit in coverage without worrying about the run = rushed decisions and very few spots to fit a pass in.

The flip side of this post (and great post BTW) is that the Saints have a gameplan for winning on the road against stout defenses.
It was the Chicago gameplan. In which we saw a commitment to the run, mistake free football gameplan, and a defense that just wouldnt let home team get anything going.
After Chicago game, I really thought CSP had figured out how to win on the road. But that feeling has proven immature.
