Best NFL coach ever

Joe Gibbs
Sure, Joe Walsh (Edit: Bill Walsh damnit) got all the glory with four Super Bowls, but he had two top 5 QB's, Jerry Rice, and all kinds of weapons.
Joe Gibbs, on the other hand, won three Super Bowls, with three different quarterbacks, none of which were even above average. His roster and starters were peppered with no-names and were a rag-tag bunch.
During his first stint in the NFL, Gibbs coached the Redskins for 12 seasons and led them to 8 playoff appearances, 4 NFC Championship titles, and 3 Super Bowl titles, again with three different average QB's and a bunch of no names.
Lombardi? Nah.

Chuck Noll coached the Pittsburgh Steelers over 23 full seasons. In his 23 full seasons his coaching record was 193 wins and 148 losses. He led his team to the playoffs 12 times, and reached the Super Bowl 4 times. His teams produced 50 pro bowl players, and some of the more successful players he coached were Dick Shiner, Roy Jefferson, Earl Gros, Dick Hoak, Gene Mingo, John Fuqua and Terry Bradshaw.

Definitely not Chuck Noll. He won a bunch of championships in the '70s because he had an overwhelming talent advantage over the rest of the NFL. After those players departed, he won nothing. I have serious doubts that he would win so many championships in the salary cap era where there's constant roster turnover every year.

No love for John Madden or Don Shula? John Madden's career winning percentage is astounding (he won 76% of his games) and Don Shula is the winningest head coach in NFL history.
I'm not saying they are #1 (Vince Lombardi is) but I believe they are in the discussion.

Amazing that Shula hasnt been mentioned
He owns about every coaching record out there (for the moment til BB breaks them all) and did it in two different eras
