According to my count and projected attrition, LSU can sign a full class of 25 is there one more scholarship freed up.
I went under the assumptions that:
Hill, Blue, OBJ, Landry, Collins, Freak, Ego all leave early even though they had remaining eligibility
Hilliard returns despite being draft eligible
Additional attrition includes Brazil (already gone), Eugene (just left), Sandolph, Raymond, Holmes, Armand Williams, and Fobbs
84 scholarships - seniors and underclass attrition = 61 remaining scholarships
Now this can all change. Someone like Collins could return and take up a scholarship. Someone like Turner or Hilliard could go pro and open up a spot. There are also other players who I wouldn't be surprised leave and not be a part of the program next season. Still many variables and plenty of time

Also the unknown variable of LSU being able to get players like Paris and Harris in for free and possibly sign a couple more than 25

You don't get anyone in "for free". They always count towards the 85.

Sober the frick up. They started one year and didn't impress and now want to play with the big boys. It would do them and their team some good to come back.

Correct thats the ultimate rule.
But the term "free" has been tossed around because if a player signs his financial aid agreement before Dec 1 then he does not count towards the programs 25 initial counters for that year (Dec 1 - May 31)
Teams can count some of these players back, and still sign a full 25 if it all works out with last years class and the 85 limit
