You pipe hittin' bitches don't need to go in expecting it to be as funny as the first. Also, if you don't like Ferrell's ridiculous humor, do not go see it. There will inevitably be people that post in this thread saying "Oh, I never understood the appeal of Ferrell." That's because you don't "get it."

--I enjoyed it because I knew what I was going in for. There's alot more Brick and alot more funny Brick. I, personally, thought Brick was the funniest part of the movie.

He ain't afraid of no ghost.

--I dislike Champ Kind in this one. I dislike him in the first one too. I always thought he never brought much to anything.

--I thought the scene at the light house with Paul Ruud was funny also.

--The fight scene. It was absolutely so ridiculous, you couldn't help but laugh.

-- The Canadian cameo in the fight scene had me rolling as well

7.5/10

This is one of my biggest pet peeves related to TV/movies. Just because someone doesn't like something, it doesn't mean they don't "get it". For shite's sake we're talking about Will Ferrell not dostoyevsky here. He has his own brand of humor that is fairly consistent in all his roles. Some people love it, some people don't care for it. But it's completely off base to claim people "don't get it" simply because they don't like it.

I think it was on par or better than the first one, especially the first hour and 15 mins.
I couldn't stop laughing the entire movie.

Even the guy who can't think said something.

Friend went and saw it last night. They said it wasn't bad but it wasn't close to as good as the first.

that's the universal response to any sequel. Especially movies that you have to watch more than once to catch the one liners and subtlety.

FWIW, I didn't like the first one the first time I saw it. I didn't even like Step Brothers (which I think eclipses Anchorman as far as Ferrell slapstick movies go) and The Other Guys (which is highly underrated) when I first saw them and now I can't stop quoting them.

This was my first thought as I walked out of the theater last night. I'm going to have to rewatch it a couple times to get a full grasp on all of the lines used. The fact that I'm willing to do that is a sign that it was a pretty funny movie.

ETA: I'd say that 7.5 is a pretty good initial rating that ends up being closer to an 8 once I get another views under my belt.

Not necessarily. Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2, etc. :)

The fight scene was a little too over the top but all the cameos were awesome. And Brick with the Trident was amazing

Yeah the first hour or so had me thinking alright this is pretty funny may even be as good as the first at this rate. Slowed down a little, but the fight scene almost had me in tears.

Brick was hilarious, Ron still the same man as ever, and I loved the mockery of the current day news. It some how lived up to the hype for me.

I liked it better than the first, but I didn't see the original in theater. I like how they just could start with the jokes bc the setup was done in the first one.

The scene meeting the black chicks family was my favorite part by far.

Brick was better in this one, but that's not saying much bc I thought he was the worst part of original. He made me laugh a few times, but wasn't the highlight of the film for me.

This was absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't stop laughing. Loved all the cameos. Will have to check it out again to get a few of the one liners down. I enjoyed it.

This one didn't hit home as much for me since Ghostbusters didn't come out until 1984. (The movie is set in 1980)

I thought the movie had some nice moments and ad-libs, but exhibited rather lazy writing.

I found Ron's boss/love interest to be a horrendous actress.

The most memorable line for me was when Kristen Wiig's character asked Brick:

"What's your favorite time of day."

And he responded, "Now."

Wayyyy too much Brick, I think that's going to hurt rewatchability value. Kristen Wiig = . You can put the boss with her too, just an awful actress.

Other than that, I thought it was one of the best comedy sequels I've seen. The Doby song nearly had me in tears.

I'm pretty sure that was the point, home slice.

I thought it was funny. Not better than the first, but better than I expected.

My favorite line, for now, is, "By the hymen of Olivia Newton-John!"
