I'm really shocked Simon Pegg didn't get the role.

I wonder if Gordon-Levitt chose Sandman over this or if they chose Rudd and he moved on.

I've really started to like Rudd over the years so this sounds interesting. I know nothing about the character tho, but I guess that's why I never critique Marvel movies opposed to some of the DC ones.

Since the announcement of ledger as the Joker I refuse to judge a superhero movie on casting alone.

But I don't know if Rudd can pull this off. This could be Green Hornet bad.

Hopefully im wrong.

Although there's no assurance yet that it remains the case, Wright's original plans for the film called for both Pym and the later Ant-Man of the comics, Scott Lang, to appear in the feature.

"The idea that we have for the adaptation is to actually involve both... Henry Pym and Scott Lang," Wright told SuperHeroHype some years ago. "So you actually do a prologue where you see Pym as Ant-Man in action in the 60's, in sort of 'Tales to Astonish' mode basically, and then the contemporary, sort of flash-forward, is Scott Lang's story, and how he comes to acquire the suit, how he crosses paths with Henry Pym, and then, in an interesting sort of Machiavellian way, teams up with him."

Maybe Pegg can win the contemporary Ant Man role.

Solid contribution
I am gonna admit I'm a little skeptical about Rudd playing a superhero, but he is a nerdy scientist from what I remember. So maybe he works as Pym. I'm gonna give Marvel the benefit of the doubt until I'm disappointed with something they release.

Yeah on second thought I think he'd be a great Pym but not so much Ant-Man

I actually kind of like the casting choice. Much better actor than Pegg.

My only concern is that Rudd, while I enjoy his stuff a lot, is getting to be a bit old to take on what could be multiple films as a superhero. Rudd will be 45 in April.

Other than that, no worries from me. Wasn't a huge fan of Chris Evans as Cap, but he's grown on me. Every other main bit of casting has been dead on, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Well I guess you'll just have to enjoy the ride and the story!
Or perhaps you can actually pick up a graphic novel and try to get into it. Didn't you read the watchmen?
are we doin bowl pick em?
