Christmas Vacation ('89) or A Christmas Story ('83): Which one wins the decade?

Same question for The Santa Clause ('94) and Jingle All the Way ('96)?
Which Christmas movie is the best of the respective decades? Or does a flick like Scrooged ('88) sneak in and take the cake for you?

I don't think there's a better movie that captures what its like to be a kid at Christmas than A Christmas Story

Christmas Vacation is a very close second though.

Christmas Vacation.
I was born in '84, so A Christmas Story while great doesn't really capture my heart like Vacation did.
Jingle All the Way.
PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN!

Christmas Vacation has Cousin Eddie, A Christmas Story doesn't

A Christmas Story
It's had 24 hours of TBS dedicated to solely showing this movie from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day since 1988.

I wouldn't be more surprised if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet.

Which is why I think it's the greatest Christmas movie of all time.
No other themes or messages or side-stories to muddle the story.
No arguments over whether it qualifies as a Christmas movie.
It's simply about a kid being a kid who wants what he wants for Christmas in Americana.
It's perfect for what it wants to be.

If I had to have one for the rest of my life it would be Christmas Vacation. I saw it long before I ever saw A Christmas Story.

Agreed.
I own and enjoy both greatly but A Christmas Story edges it out.
Also The Santa Clause > Jingle All The Way

as a movie, yes.
But for its horribleness Jingle All The Way is a must watch every Christmas.
