For this year's NCAA collegiate Bowl season Outback Steakhouse will offer a free shrimp appetizer to customers if the Iowa Hawkeyes claim victory at the January 1 Outback Bowl.

The company's promotion is two-fold. On Jan. 2 customers will receive a free coconut shrimp appetizer at Outback locations nationwide if the Iowa Hawkeyes topple Louisiana State during the New Year's Day competition.

But if Louisiana's Fighting Tigers take home the trophy, Outback will offer customers their signature Bloomin' Onion appetizer free of charge on Jan. 2.

The restaurant chain is advertising the giveaway on Twitter with the hashtags #TeamCoconutShrimp and #TeamBloominOnion.

Don't think I've ever had anything from Outback that wasn't a steak, mac n cheese or a bloomin onion.

Haven't been in years, but I remember their steaks being vaguely decent for the price. And I remember loving their mac n cheese as a wee lad.

It's because they don't have corn dogs on the menu.

The reason they chose Bloomin Onion for LSU is because they're cheaper than coconut shrimp.
