Agree. His stock definitely took a shot this year, but he's a good coach.

I still think it'd be difficult to get him to leave Evanston.

Would he consider Penn State when O'Brien leaves this offseason?

I almost feel like if anything, he'd leave NW for a school outside tB1G if he did leave. Not sure he'd want to not only leave Nw, but then beat their arse every year as an added FU.

He's a good fit for NW bc their expectations are low and he's a good coach that makes them competitive, plus he was a great player for them. But I think he'd likely fail to make the leap. I'm just not sure he's a good enough of a recruiter.

I think he would do fine. In addition to lacking the tradition, facilities (I think), and fan support of big time programs, Northwestern doesn't make many, if any, academic exceptions. The deck is stacked against him, to say the least.

He's not leaving Northwestern no time soon. Plus living in the Chicago area is better than living in Austin. He makes good money and there's no pressure on him.

With his experience working with handicaps, I think he'd be a great fit for somewhere like Stanford or Notre Dame if those jobs open up and he was willing to leave NW.

I hope he has an inside track onto the short list at UGA once Jesus tells Mark Richt it's time to go save the Pygmies.
