New Orleans Saints Mull Lineup Changes

He sounds particularly upset with Hartley.

quote:

"The kicking game, we can't kick a field goal. You know, we have one blocked, which was a low trajectory kick. The other one we just shanked to the left. We get an onside kick against us. We're alert all week for that possibility. So it's hard to just say or pick out one specific player. Obviously when you're at left tackle, it becomes more glaring. … But we'll put a lot of thought into the best approach this week as we get ready to play Carolina."

That onside kick was perfect. Idk if it could've been recovered even if they knew it was coming(assuming they lined up the same).

What the hell can you do at this point?

Trade KC a 7th rd pick for the rights to Willie Roaf and beg him to come out of retirement? He would still be a better option than Charles Brown.

One thing is for sure. You could hear the way Sean Payton was talking. I would be totally shocked if CB ever plays another down for the Saints.

About the only thing I can think of would have been to knock the shite out of the guy trying to recover it before he got to it. Then hope it rolls out of bounds.

Sure hope you're right. I knew he was going to be a big fat a** bust the moment we drafted him. Fn bum with no drive from USC. They're all failures.

I think I would be tempted to replace Hartley. That shank from extra point distance just makes me nervous.

That was really bad. And it's not like the Saints were going to come back, but it was definitely looking like they were making it fun to watch again. And Hartley just curb stomped it.

I've been apologizing for Hartley for a long time, but I have nothing more to give. He gone.

I've been a Harley apologist for a while. That last kick was one of the worst I have ever seen. I'm done having his back after his performance so far this year, specifically that kick.

I mean they may not have a choice but to play him the remainder of this season even if he isn't a starter. But I think he is done when the season is over. You could just hear the disgust in SP's voice when he emphasized he had seen enough. Maybe I am making more out of it, but the tone he used sounded like he was done with CB.

Too many solid veteran kickers waiting for a phone call imo.

Bring the couple back we thought looked good in the first workout. Have them workout again, pick one, and have them on the practice field by Wednesday.

At this point, I think a shakeup may be a good thing. Clearly something is wrong with this team on the road, so why not attempt to change some things?

The ONLY good that came from yesterday is I think most of the team, particularly Payton, finally owned up to the fact that we've been masking issues all season. If they can't prepare accordingly this week and play well enough to earn a possible #2 bye in the playoffs, then as many others have said, we're not doing shite in the postseason anyway.

They need to play this game as if it were the NFC championship. Clearly they didn't do that yesterday.

First time I've said dump Emo but...dump Emo. That last kick was placed right in a dome and had more english leather on it than chad at his prom. How you could ever trust that again is beyond me. I have no idea what CSP will do about LT at this point.

Meme to CSP.
Pull out all the stops all the plays leave nothing don't kick FG's when you need TD's get the ST's head out of their arse be prepared be bold go for the kill and put your foot up this teams arse and keep it there all week. Where's that duck?

Same here. If anything to just sign a vet who can kick from 35 in.

Hartleys problem always seems to be from 40 and in. Id be fine with signing a kicker for those and letting hartley have 40-60

I think Hartley is done
Not a whole lot you can do at OT at this point of the season. Armstead would be worse since he hasn't seen any playing time all year.
RB is what it is and Ingram is done at end of year

I would think this late in season he would give CB another shot at carolina but this time be ready for a quick change if needed.
