JGsales dot com has a good price on their 7.62 pistols for a short time. They're usually around $550 but they have them for $399 at the moment. They're allowing backorders for them.

I hate guns designed as rifles that become "pistols" for not having a stock. But once a stock is on it, to you know make it practical, you are now committing a felony...

Pardon my ignorance, but why would the rifle version of that gun be illegal and the pistol version legal?

The arbitrary 16" barrel length is defined by the ATF. 18" for shotguns, 16" for rifles.
