@SportsCenter: As Mack Brown steps down at Texas, one huge name on the wish list for AD Steve Patterson is Eagles coach Chip Kelly. (via @mortreport)

Expect EVERY name to emerge as a "candidate". Bill Belichek should be next. Wake me up when they are serious, right now it is all about Texas fapping to themselves that everyone wants to coach there and that they have more money than the Vatican.

Agree. The only thing UTx, as a football program, has shown it can do at a high level is make a cluster frick of things. I find it hard to believe that a smart, proven coach would want to jump into that shithole.

There is that thing called the Philadelphia Eagles that are in the thick of the playoff picture, but yeah he is going to leave for UT not to mention his show cause problem

"still has a show cause"

This is one of the most misunderstood things in sports. A show cause isn't an automatic disqualifier the way people think it is. You simply have to check in with the NCAA when hiring them and they are restricted from doing certain things until the show cause is over which is about another year for Kelly.

There was a good article about Bruce Pearl's show cause which ends next August talking about how he'll probably get hired by some school next March

Texas fans are delusional about their next coach.
