included. No TV package. Is this the beginning of a la carte? Anyone else seen this offer?

It's Comcast, who has worse customer service reviews than the IRS. You're simply asking for it when you go with Comcast.

How often do you call support on your internet service? I have never. I have both Comcast and UVerse and have only called UVerse twice in 3 years for tv issues. Never for internet. Who gives a shite about support unless you actually have to interact with them?

Besides, that's not the point. My point is that they are offering HBOGo without you having to subscibe to HBO on their cable TV service. That is a huge leap for many. Add WatchESPN to that, and cutting the cord becomes VERY realistic for a lot of people.

I'm just saying you're playing with fire when dealing with Comcast. It's a matter of time before something breaks or you want some sort of upgrade, and then this company will rip your a-hole apart. It is the single most incompetent organization in the nation, and that is no exaggeration. I've dealt with Comcast on 3 different occasions this year, and they've all lead to non-stop rage. People with experience with both Comcast and the IRS would rather deal with the later any day of the week. That is how bad Comcast is.

If you are subscribing to a package, you aren't cutting the cord.

Xfinity internet does not suck arse. Say what you want about their tv, but the internet blows Cox or UVerse away.

I think it is. The writing is on the wall, if ESPN and HBOGo were available direct to consumers the cable companies probably would have already lost half of their subscribers. If the cable companies weren't locked into their respective regions and were competing nationwide, something like this probably would have happened over a year ago.

Before everyone gets excited at the prospect HBO + ESPN + NetFlix + HuluPlus for under $45 per month, if enough people start cutting the cord then HuluPlus at the very least will have to go up in price. Cable may be an inefficient middleman, but I don't think they're so inefficient that you can go from $125-$150 per month for Cable + movie channels all the way down to $45 per month and get the same content.

Their Internet is definitely better than Uverse when it works. The customer service problem is a legit issue.
