Yes that is true. But still listed as one of the top 100 players ever in the NFL.

Not nearly as unbelievable as that that user name has never been taken until now.

He also had 11 seasons where he had over 1000 yards from scrimmage. Including one season where he had 2314.

He also has the 3rd most rushing TDs in NFL history, 12th most rushing yards, 7th most yards from scrimmage, 10th most all-purpose yards, and 6th most overall TDs.

Not sure a truer statement has ever been posted here.

Not saying he is undeserving. Just surprised that he broke 900 only three times

Al Davis benched him for almost the entirety of his prime out of spite

His numbers are fricking incredible when you consider his situation in Oakland

Got to watch him here in KC for a couple of years. On top of everything else he was a stud blocker. He'd literally stop blitzing LB's in their tracks and knock the snot out of them.

Whoah there buddy, how many running backs are we going to allow on this list? Is Allen even in the top 10?

Of the top of my head
Brown
Smith
Sanders
AD
LT
Campbell
Thurman
Sayers
Martin
Simpson
Jackson (I know short lived)

Are all arguably more deserving or as deserving as Allen.

How many?

Because we've got 23 other positions to represent and only 100 slots.

THIS is why he is a top 100 player ever... He was the Roger Craig before roger craig..... Well maybe Chuck Foreman was.... But still a duel threat back in the greatest sense of the word......

1. Had al davis not fricking intentionally killed allen's career, his career numbers would have been unfathomable. 6 prime years of his career were completely wasted because davis was a lunatic and a petty a-hole.

2. I don't care how many of each position is there. If the 100 best players were all runningbacks, then they were all runningbacks

3. Backs I would have OVER Allen are as follows

Brown
Sanders
Simpson
Payton
Peterson
uuuuum, damn

better than dickerson, campbell, fricking definitely better than tomlinson or curtis martin. Better than emmitt smiff. If you think sayers is so highly regarded than i assume you take into account his career killing injury (well kind of, he wasn't the same)

How about allen who played 6 of his best years either riding pine, splitting time (best case scenario for him), or playing fullback.

in 1989 and 1991, he only played in 8 games.

in 1992 he did play in every game but only had 67 attempts on the year.

then he finally got a fair shake in KC starting in 1993.

keep in mind he had been in the league since 1982.

don't be fooled by the games played games started line

bo jackson, eric dickerson(over the hill) davis was bringing in anyone to take that job. allen would get a carry here or there, time at fullback

Art Shell is such a tool.

and allen had every reason to go screaming to the media, screaming to the world, try and force a trade, get cut, but he wouldn't give davis the pleasure. He won the "committment to excellence" award every year (voted on by the team), never complained, always prepared even though he knew he wasn't going in

it blows my mind that anyone would try and even question allen's inclusion on that type of list.
