Since 2006 (Payton and Brees arrival in N.O.) and not counting 2012 (Payton suspension) or the postseason, the Saints are 22-17 outdoors by my count.

ETA: Obviously, since we've never won a road playoff game, that record looks worse if playoffs are included. With Superbowl included, since 2006 we're 1-3 in non-Superdome playoff games. If that's included in the overall record for outdoor games, we are 23-20.

Sorry, 4-8.

That's WAYYYY better than 3-8.

ETA: So am I supposed to believe that they are an awesome outdoors team late in the year now bc the record is 4-8, instead of 3-8?

I mean, this team has been real good over the last 8 years and are definitely capable of winning on the road. But the narrative about this great road team just really misleading.

They are a good road team in domes and early in the year, but not late in the year and outdoors.

3-3 since 2009 despite 2 of those being road playoff games.

idk how we stack up against the rest of the NFL in that department though.

Our shitty defense in the past cost us almost every one of those games. Our offense put up the points

Funny enough it's the offense that arguably cost us the three road losses this year.

I agree, the offense has traveled from '06-'12. Defense has let them down.

100% true for NE loss.

Mostly true for NYJ loss.

Everything was crap for SEA loss.

If they win the next 2 games, esp Carolina on the road, it'll be a good statement for the playoffs.

I was pretty livid about this lineup:

Cowboys
SF
@ATL on Thursday
@SEA (seattle with a bye week before us)

I wasn't worried at all about Dallas, especially with it being prime time.

I was very excited about the SF game, because the team owed them an arse beating. The score didn't reflect that, but the win felt good. I was confident about the game as well.

I was furious about having to play @ATL on a Thursday again. I almost punched my tv when i saw that shite.

I was also super worried about @SEA, and rightfully so. I knew that would be the most difficult game on the schedule, and had it as a loss.

I had the team going 2-2 in this stretch, so it's really hard not to be pleased with how they did here going 3-1. If you include Carolina, who was very hot going into the game, it makes it an even more impressive stretch.

4-8 with 3 of the 8 losses coming to Chicago in Payton's fist 3 years in NOLA and another in 2012 that he wasn't coaching.

Take those first 3 years and last year out and look at the Saints in 2009-2011 and the Saints are 3-3 outdoors in December and January under Payton and 1 of those losses in 2009 was a game after we'd clinched the #1 seed.

So it's 3-2 from 2009-2011 and even if you count this year, it's 3-3, not too bad considering all 3 losses were against playoff teams.
