Does LSU have a ceiling for coach's salaries?

We hired the next nick saban, we role out like 2-3 nat'l titles in a row, every big U calling, coach loves LSU but just wants offers matched. Can we pony up a 10 mil plus deal as well as 1% of tiger vision?

LSU does not have Texas $$$. No one does. The SEC schools with the most money are Alabama, Florida and LSU with A&M coming up pretty fast.

But the revenue earned with winning on a saban level pays itself

Ceilings can always be negotiated.

Just curious because I cant remember. What were the terms of sabans original salary in 99? Wasn't it under 1m per year?

Don't worry bro, we have nothing to worry about.

You worried someone will come after miles and lsu may not match ?

quote:$1.6 million a year. 3rd highest in CFB. Hadn't won jack at that point.

ETA: Emmert did his homework, turned out great for LSU. Sometimes you pay on potential.

Coaching changes season is the best part of the college football year

No matter what the ceiling is, fans will say he's overpaid if he makes a mistake

Yall are crazy, If we started winning like Alabama, the money will come. We have a lot of celebrity fans, a lot. Also, fans are licking their chops at us coming back to pre 2008 levels. If you build it, they will come and spend a lot of money.

What the market will bear.

I'm talking the consistency of Bama dude. We went, got blowed out, and have lost 3 games each the next two years. Also, Miles got a raise for that year anyway.
If we can go 2014-2018 with 4-5 playoff appearances, 2-3 National Championships, plus first round talent galore, I think the money starts rolling in on the bandwagon (rich posers) end. Miles will be given 6 mill (for winning) and places will be looking to offer him 7 or 8 mill. I don't see him leaving if they offer more though.
If Saban is gone, we become a one loss reg season team again, who could probably have 2 undefeated seasons in that span. Louisiana is loaded with talent for the foreseeable future, and we are right on the cusp of a dynasty.
