Once again, a writer for the NOLA Advocate has sought to diminish the importance of an LSU football game. The writer claims that the bowl game has no sizzle, and that our fans have let out a collective yawn. Once again, the fact is that every time a player puts on an LSU uniform they should be willing to put forth great effort for the school, their team mates, and the fans. Winning this game would avenge a last second loss to Iowa at the Cap One bowl. Winning this game, would make this team the first to win at least ten games four years in a row. Winning this game can help to set the tone for next year. Every game is important Mr. Harris, every game.

Most definitely. I agree 1000%!I just hope the coaches and most importantly the players realize that and don't lay another egg in a bowl game!

I felt humiliated at the 1/1/2005 game. Lived in Iowa and the family flew down to the game on a Iowa Hawkeye Alumni Charter. That flight back was excruciating.

So yeah...time for pay back. Both teams have a really strong and proud fan base. Can't wait.

Agreed. I'm excited to curb stomp Iowa. I still can't believe Saban blew that game on his way out the door.

Mr. Harris,
Matt Harris is a punk who hates LSU. Plus he can't write.

His column today had at least three misspelled or missing words, which is common for him.

He is a terrible writer.

I keep reading this on the Rant. Iowa is not a rival and that bowl game was nine years ago.

I doubt a single LSU player gives a flip about a game played when they were 12 years old.

This "revenge" crap is for fans, not the players.

All of these are factors!

I read the article and it sounded like he was writing it based on his own opinion representing the opinion of LSU fans.

You would think he would at least have a few quotes from tiger fans on the matter.

I hate this mindset. We are a spoiled brat fanbase. Hopefully the coaches/players feel differently but last year's performance was in line with this same rantard mindset.

I would enjoy a dominant performance by this team in whatever venue. frick all these nega-tigers and haters and detractors. There are way too many LSU fan posers running loose on the rant. I guess I'll be labeled a sunshine pumper for enjoying tiger victory. So be it.

How did this thought transition from the newspaper to the rant?

It's important for the team and the coaching staff to finish strong. As a fan, the biggest question surrounding this game is if Kirk Ferentz is the most overpaid coach in college football?
