No. He is an extremely inefficient scorer who isn't a good defender, passer, or rebounder.
There is a reason the Grizzlies 2 most successful playoff runs were with him no longer in the lineup.

He's very overpaid and someone needs to tell him he's not a 3 point shooter, that's for sure, but he doesn't suck, coach just lets him shoot too much

They have a better Rudy Gay in Demar Derozen.
I think it's a good trade for the Kings though. It's been awhile since they had a solid wing scorer.

He can post up and get to the rim, reminds me of a 6'8" tyreke evans, he's just been in bad situations

Someone once said of Rudy Gay, that he had the potential to be the best player on a perpetual lottery team.
I can't think of any better way to sum him up. It isn't that he is without skill, or that he's a bad athlete-- but there are just some guys who are never efficient, never leaders, and who never learn how to win. That is Rudy Gay in a nutshell.

Seriously though, why the hell would you want him on your team? He's super inefficient and terrible at defense.

This might be better for Gay. In Memphis, who'd he have to help draw attention from him? Once the Grizz were clicking he had already been phased out of the lineup. He won't be worth the money, but it might give the Kings fans a boost in morale.
