I just finished a movie I watched once 10 years ago and loved. After rewatching, I realize why I enjoyed it so much. This performance is severely underrated and this is why I started the topic. I'm sure everyone has a few.

How is that underrated? That's the role that got him noticed by most people . . . or at least people who made his career. More accurately, it may be the role that most mainstream moviegoers don't know about.

I agree. Bale is the best actor out of the Batmen. Although, some might argue clooney or kilmer (not for their portrayal as Bruce Wayne).

Not sure if it's underrated, but I love Matthew Broderick's performance in Election.

This is obscure as shite, but the cab driver in "We Were Soldiers" that accidentally scares the Colonel's wife into thinking his next "your husband is dead" letter is for her, resulting in her calling him an idiot...
"I don't like my job, ma'am. I'm just trying to do it."
If ever an award could be given for best delivery of a single line by someone with only a couple of lines, he would win it. In one line he expressed shame, frustration, sorrow, duty, and remorse. It was the perfect delivery for that somewhat insignificant line.
