The Hobbit "Desolation Of Smaug" So it begins

I watched the extended edition blu ray and this movie gets better everytime. I can see the grip about the Indiana jones type sequence in the last one, but overall the movie was great.
The previews and hype has a Two Towers feeling towards it. This movie doesn't have to introduce anything like the first one so it will jump into the story right of the bat. The new characters and places in this movie will be amazing. Smaug has been getting worked on for 3 years and it was well worth the wait. Benedict voice for Smaug gives you goosebumps.

I downloaded it on torrents.

Finally got to watch the Extended edition of AUJ the other day & it really adds to it. I enjoy the movie more with each viewing. I'm really excited for DoS next week. I read where they will be going with a much darker tone for this one, which excites me.

It has been out for weeks. I was even more unimpressed by the EE than the theatrical release.
only good bit from the whole ee is the extended council meeting.

Does the way "Smaug" is pronounced grate on anybody else or is just me? I don't know what it is but everytime I hear the commercial and the announcer says it, it may as well be fingernails across a chalkboard.

I like The Trilogy, but I liked the Hobbit more, as it did not have the morose Frodo; Bilbo was personable, and wasn't nearly so one dimensional.
But I am really disappointed that they invented a female character for PC purposes (and economic, I guess), but dammit remain true to the books. i will still pay to go see it though.

Yes!I remember when Fellowship came out and all of the names and Middle Earth words were being pronounced completely different from the way I read them in the book. For example...I read Legolas with a long O sound not the quick "Lega" sound used in the movies. Drove me nuts.

There is much more marketing going on for this. It will break many records. Hell it got over a billion last year with every critic trashing the movie. The critics were so wrong in their hate for the movie. They just bitched about the 48 FPS crap

I think the Indiana Jones thing is for the video game.
Looking forward to it but I don't think they needed three movies to do this. It would be better as two.
