I need to run a pattern test before Christmas time, plan to be making a number of hunts around then. And just wanted to check my pattern, have a SBEII and been missing a few shots that got me thinking something might be a lil wrong with my barrel.

Searched online and found that the SBEII has some horrible manufacturing tolerances for the barrel and a lot of variances have been reported with people's barrels. Some were shooting almost a foot left and right at 25yds.

I could be a horrible shot, but I'm going to clarify that before I take a self esteem hit and quit hunting forever.

A poster board or sheet of newspaper and any place that you can shoot a shotgun. I guess hunter's run would be a good place

You can do it out of your duck blind pretty easily

Do not allow greater than 2-3/4" shells to be shot at their range. So unless the OP is shooting these in the blind, I would say no dice. But yes, they do have "patterning facilities"

He could at least convince himself that his barrel isn't fricked that way.

I'd bring two sticks and a poster board and shoot it out the blind after the hunt one day.

That place isn't policed too well. You could run a few shells of whatever you're shooting through and see what your pattern is doing. Worse case scenario they scold you and give you a

Thanks for the help.

Like I said I don't want to blame my misses on a barrel, cause it obviously sounds like a may be a sugarass, lol, new favorite term. But I read to many threads online with guys benelli's shooting way off. Plus I have a sight coming in soon to do some turkey hunting with and wish to sight that in as well while I'm there.
