I need some pants for hawking. I wear brush chaps over them, but I still wear out jeans very quickly, especially the knees.

I'm looking at either the double front carhartt work pants: LINK

Or fire hose pants from Duluth: LINK

Anybody tried both?

I've used the carhartts and never worn a pair out, but the pair from Duluth is suppose to be about as tough as they come. I just read the review on the Duluth pair that after a year a guy wore a hole i nthe knee and they sent him a new pair...thats pretty good customer service.

Haven't tried the Duluth's, but after watching that video they sure seem to be tough as hell.

I usually rock the double front Carhartts when I am walking through briars. They can get pretty hot though. Really want some tin cloth Filson pants, but they are $$$

I had a pair of their chaps and I shredded them in less than 3 months. They make good stuff, but their chaps won't hold up to what I do.

I have the Carhartt overalls, fireproof.

I had a tick on my knee this past weekend while I was hunting. I put a flame on him until he exploded. Didn't even leave a mark where the flame was.
