1) Oline-this was once a strength but due to salary cap issues etc, this is now a weakness and we are going to get Drew killed. We need some better lineman this offseason.

2) We need better linebackers, and at least one more quality corner.

On the positive side, we have a great Defensive Coordinator now and hopefully he has a better eye or talent, and we finally have a very solid and young D-line that can get pressure on opposing QB's.

We do not need any more running backs or receivers unless late round steals.

Ugh linebackers are not really an issue. Being down so many CBs is a huge problem.

Oline
Corner
Offensive weapon. Brees is like the greatest most accurate gun in the entire world with a 6 space magazine and 1 bullet. We need more bullets.

Yeah I don't get the linebacker hate. Of course they were gashed by safetys and RBs all night. They shouldn't even be covering them. We need OLine, CBs, and WRs

We need cheaper QB's.

Not pointing the finger at any specific person, of course.

I think what you're seeing now is that the secondary and offensive line will be huge areas of concern in the offseason.

I still love the Vaccaro pick, and I see him around the ball, but the Saints will badly need another cover corner next year what with Patrick Robinson and Jabari Greer's health concerns coupled with Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper's complete inability to cover anyone.

Linebackers and defensive line are solid. Running backs are solid. Maybe one WR. But it's got to be all offensive line and secondary in the offseason.

Let's not forget we lost Joe Morgan, V.Butler, K. Coleman before the season even started....correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't at least 2 of 3 projected to be starters. More specifically, Joe Morgan was to be that deep threat this year was he not? We also drafted Armstead, so we have already begun the process of depth on OL.

Yes, yes it is... I don't know what type of defense we've been watching this year, but it's not a 3-4. A large reason for that are injuries at linebacker. Gallette overshot the containment OVER AND OVER. He is a good pass-rusher, but he's not an every-down linebacker. You can't have a team full of one-dimensional players and expect to win in the NFL.

It's worked 9/12 times so far. But i do agree. We were cracked by injuries at the beginning of the season. We need some depth. But the priority right now is not linebackers.

I agree, our team has always been best when our front 3 are playing lights out. They simply are not. They really need to evaluate the cost and future of our O-line. We are paying premium money for Evans and Grubbs. I think Evans is still good (just injured this year), but Grubbs is paid a premium and is playing like garbage too. DLP wasn't good last year but was a good stopgap when we still had Nicks, so I want to think he's a viable backup or even might be serviceable with some Pete Carroll-approved livestock steroids.

On defense though I'd like to see some depth at LB late in the draft, a CB wouldn't hurt either - CB is one of those immediate impact positions.

I honestly think the score would've been way closer if we had some reliable hands like Jarvis out there last night.

O line and wrs are the main areas of need. Saints could easily replace 3 wrs right now: Colston, Moore and Meachem. All are beyond their best playing days.

That may be a bit of an over statement. I agree with Meachem but you know exactly what you have with Moore and Colston and they know what Drew wants. We ran up against a top tier defense last night in a very hostile environment and got smoked, thats it.

Who would you replace those three with?

I think you easily replace Moore and Meachem with Stills who can really do both of their jobs in one.
I don't think Colston is easily replaced, though. But I strongly believe we need to go out and get another playmaker. Our offense has just become too predictable

Offseason moves - need speed at the wideouts. I love Colston and Moore, but there production has dropped drastically. Time to move on. Bring in some new guys via draft and free agency. I realize Morgan was hurt all season, but he is somewhat erratic.

I almost hate having this conversation now, because it's definitely an end of the season topic, and it isn't close to that point yet, but... 3 biggest needs are, IMO, DB first, then OL and WR are a close 2a and 2b.

DBs: You can never have too many good DBs. Jabari is coming of an ACL injury and on the wrong side of 30, and Robinson has his own ACL injury, and has never shown to be starting material to begin with. Vaccaro has already proven his worth, but it wouldn't hurt to get another safety who can compete for the starting spot. Jenkins is a UFA, so it'll be interesting to see how that turns out. I think we offer him a modest deal, but all it takes is one a-hole GM to throw more money at him, and he's gone.

WRs: We need some guys besides Graham who can get separation. I love Colston and Lance, but these guys haven't been much of a factor this year. Colston is on pace to have his 2nd worse season statistically, and Lance hasn't even surpassed 300 yards for the season yet. These guys have a combined cap hit next over of over $13 mil ($8 for Colston, with $10 in dead money, $5 for Lance with no dead money). This may be a case of rather than going out and getting someone (little cap space next year anyway), our young guys (Stills, Toon, and Morgan) are going to have to take the next step.

OL: Grubbs and Jahri haven't played to expectations this year, but they aren't going anywhere. At OT, Strief is having a pretty solid year. Brown is a UFA, but he hasn't exactly played great there anyway. If Armstead can take the next step, then great, but it may be worth taking another OT early in the draft. Center is without doubt the biggest hole on the O-line, and I would expect that to be addressed this offseason. Cap space is low this offseason, but I have a feeling Loomis will work his magic and get a vet Center in FA.
