Does anyone have statistics on the percentage of 4 and 5 star recruits leaving their home state, broken down by state, for the last 5 years? I am curious as to how LA, TX, FL, and AL compare.

you need to figure out which kids had an offer from the intstate schools to get an accurate representation, assuming your wanting to know which kids left the state even though the instate schools wanted them.

Let us know when you get this project completed, I'm sure someone would be interested in whatever you are trying to achieve. You also need to break down why thy they didn't stay in state as some of these kids may have not even been offered to play for an instate school.

I would imagine that Georgia has more 5 stars leave their state than any other state.

Good luck on your research project.

GA has a larger population so percentage can present a somewhat normalized view

Here you go. Read the first three posts. First (OP) is on Louisiana, and the next two are on Ohio and Georgia.

Yep. In 2012 alone, UGA only signed 4-5 of the Top 20 in state kids. They missed out on most of the big targets as well. I can't imagine the meltdown that our fanbase would have if that were our case.

Georiga signed 31 of 90 top 15 recruits in the state of Georgia since 2008. With a 34% success rate. Averaging 5 of the top 15 a year.

Took me a while to find all the info then run the numbers but here you go: TX-average annual 4/5 star population: 52 percentage that leave the state: 62% FL-47, 56% GA-23, 78% AL-12, 10% LA-15, 5%. FENCE DOWN!!!111!!!

That same crowd would probably want to know this other major dilema: Boxers or Briefs?

WOW.. that is astonishing. The fact that they still field a competitive team on a yearly basis speaks of the importance OOS recruiting plays.

Well, it IS just the top 15. The top 30 of Georgia is probably accurate to the top 15 of Louisiana when speaking with depth.

Plus they recruit the hell out of Florida and the Carolina's.

Sampson, thank you for doing this. Is this for last 5 years or different time line?

Thanks.
