Winning 3 of the next 4 guarantees the division and the 2-seed

Starting with a win next week, the Saints could wrap up the 2-seed and rest the last week of the season.

Seattle will be the 1-seed, but they haven't been invincible at home including struggles against Tampa and Tennessee. They could lose in the second round to a team like San Fran or Carolina.

In the end, not all hope is lost, and Sunday will be a huge step for the Saints to take control of the division.

3 of the 4 games are in domes, 2 are at home and 2 are against teams with combined records of 8-16.

The third game will be in Charlotte where the weather won't be near what it is like in Seattle tonight.

This Seattle team is simply an inconsistent team and has lucked out that they've simply had their bad days against crap teams.

They got down 21-0 to winless Tampa at home.

Struggled to beat a mediocre Tennessee team at home.

Struggled against St. Louis

Nearly lost to a Houston team that is now 2-10.

In the end, they are a great team, but very up and down. They simply had their best day today, while New Orleans had one of its worst.

Random fumble/pass falls into a DL's hands resulting in a TD. Another pass deflect off a TE and into the hands of a WR for a TD.

Don't put too much stock into this game. Bad loss, yes, but simply that a single loss.

Best case scenario IMO is to have Seattle as the 1, us as the 2. Carolina as the 5 and SF 6. When SF beats whoever the 3 seed is, they go up to seattle and knock them out. Then it sets up the SF/NO rematch for the NFC Championship, provided the Saints get there

If the Saints can win both games vs Carolina, they can lose the other 2 but still win the division. In that scenario, both would finish 11-5. The Saints would win the div. by the 1st tie-breaker, head-to-head.

True, but that could also cost them the 2 seed if Detroit or Philly both won out.

Ugh, I really don't want to play San Fran in the playoffs again...and I sure don't want to play the Panthers a third time. Hopefully it's a North or East team

If the saints sweep carolina we will get the 2 seed and that will leave carolina as the 6 seed...and a potential upset game vs seattle if they win wildcard week!

I'd rather play SF or Car in the Dome then in Seattle again. Highly unlikely we go to the SB without playing any of those 3

Carolina barely lost to Seattle in Week 1, 12-7. There's hope Carolina could upset Seattle.

I think they just underestimated Tampa and it almost cost them.

they still were able to get it together and come back from 21 points down...

against Tennessee I think they were playing with a short deck... I mean injuries.

one thing I noticed tonight was that their O-line held up a lot better. They had Okung back at LT I think. Wilson made good throws no matter what though.

I think it is unfair to call out the secondary or even the LB's in this game tonight. Wilson is the real deal.. just my opinion.

I really have no doubt that we will stop Carolina's win streak at the Dome. Beyond that I don't know... hell.. I don't care right now.

I just don't see this team dropping two-in-a-row after that crap performance tonight.
