How should I fish the Bayou Bienvenue area now?

I haven't really fished that area since the locks were completed and was wondering if any of you had advice, especially in cold weather. Thanks.

At the first lock right now, everyone is limiting out on reds. Pulled in 20 yesterday.

Which is the first lock? The one on the Intracoastal waterway or the one by Bayou bienvenue.
What are they being caught on and how deep? Thanks.

Hell, with this colder weather, launch at Gulf Marina and just idle out in that small bay right there. Fish the bottom with plastics slow. Trout& redfish stack up there when it gets cold. 
Also, hotwater canal. Finger mullets are the ticket. One can catch them by the first lock inside to were the bayou used to run, but was dammed with a castnet. Fishing that area, use just a hook with the live mullet and cast into the rocks. Work it slow to keep the mullet from snagging you up in the rocks.
Across from Bold brothers in the MRGO, Sliding cork on the drop off in about 12'-15' of water, there are old tree stumps. Big trout hold tight to them. Live mullets are the ticket there for the big girls.

The one by Bayou Bienvenue I think. As soon as you launch, it's the first one on your left.
You can catch them inside or outside of the first lock. I think we anchored in about 8-10 feet of water. We were using dead shrimp(yes I'm asian) and they were biting off plastics as well.

The old one that you have to pass through to get to the MRGO, correct? You're not talking about the lock on the new wall, correct?
And, dead shrimp sounds fine as apparently the live ones are freezing overnight.

How does one get to the East side of the wall? It looks like it's blocked off with dikes on the ends.

That's just the area between the GIWW and Bayou Bienvenue. They were required to close it off but you can access it via kayaks if you want.
There are lots of small oysters growing on those rocks that line the shoreline too.

There appears to be an open gate in the middle of the new wall along the course of Bayou Bienvenue that will allow you to get to the east side.
But, no it appears you can't cruise the entirety of the east side of the wall
