Looking back. I like the new seedings so much better than winner of a district plays runner up of another. The record of Shreveport teams vs Monroe is just pathetic. The 1996 team of Byrd should have made a run at the Dome.

yeah.. and for awhile.. the catholic schools in Nola whined about not getting past the jeff parish schools(ehret/west jeff in heyday) and vice versa...

but when Capt Shreve was on top of their game the tables were turned... big time.. 3 of those gator teams in early 70s were unreal...as good as any la has ever fielded.

Ah, so that's a new website. Nice to know. I came across it over the weekend and was wondering how I hadn't found it before.

Last public school championship from a Shreveport team. Hopefully Byrd changes that this season.

But the seedings is a much more fair way of doing things especially since LA is relatively small. Texas can't because of sheer size. Plus teams rarely play outside of their part of the state so it's really like 4 mini states. But their Div 1 and Div 2 within classes still kind of confuses me. Why split your classes even further?

What other public school dominated like Haynesville in the 90's?

2A champions 91 & 92-96.

Except they lost to the third place team from 2-5A in the first round.
